Children's
Center
(GVCC)
is a Non-profit Organization.
We provide children from all walks of life
with quality, loving care, as well as peace of mind for parents while
they are apart. Our main objective is, through a strong commitment, to
foster both intellectual and social-emotional development. Equally
important to these, are the development of self-esteem, identity,
competence, impulse control, autonomy (sense of self), and relationships
with other people.
To promote learning,
Enrichment Classes is based on a unifying theme, which serves to help
children to focus on specific concepts and provides an environment that
will encourage each child to fulfill his or her potential. The
cognitively oriented center is based on the premise that children are
active learners who construct their own knowledge from meaningful,
hands-on experiences. The environment is designed to be stimulating but
orderly, where children can independently choose from a wide variety of
interesting materials. The classroom is divided into different areas
including, but not limited to, housekeeping, block area, quiet and group
areas, and art.
Our School Age Program is
meant to be a fun enrichment program for children age 5-12. This program
provides a variety of materials for the children to choose from whether
it be choosing from our library, playing Sega or working on the
computer, socializing, crafts, board games, card games or home work.
There is plenty of space for kids to chill out and just relax and there
is also a big emphasis on physical out door activity on a daily basis.
Our open door policy lets families come at
any time to see their children and or talk to the director if there is
any concern.
